The Sodick AQ537L, ultimate in accuracy and machining speed, is a part of the top-of-the-line equipment utilized by Progress Tool in EDM technology.
This machine offers many new benefits, contrasting to older, conventional ball screw-type EDM's, as it is a new form of linear motor driven EDM's.
- Improved basic machine structure of optimized rib arrangements increase rigidity by approximately 70%.
- Deformation is minimized, allowing optimum performance of high-speed and rapid acceleration linear motors.
- Independent X and Y-axis plus an efficient parts layout lead to a longer stroke, smaller footprint and highly accurate machining capability.
- The linear motor employs a direct drive, vibration-free device which has unrivaled acceleration and position accuracy with no backlash.
- Linear motor achieves even better performance thanks to the motion controller (K-SMC).

The CM-H30A also has many beneficial features:
- Makes starting holes for wire-cutting.
- Drills small and deep holes on extra hard steel, alloy, metallizer, powder mettalurgy and on metals that ordinary drilling machines are unable to work on.
- Able to drill small and deep holes on spherical, curved and irregular working surfaces.
- Obtains high stability and high speed machining.
